Workshop on Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology, IAS

IAS being a distinguished part of UMT continues its unique study program, which combines the required theoretical studies with practical experience and exposure to the aviation industry for the students. For this purpose, a talk (interactive session) was held at UMT  in which all the students of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Technology actively participated. The invited speaker, Mr. KashifRehan, is a part of a Emirates airline.


Mr. KashifRehan has been a part of the aviation industry for the last 20 years. He started his career journey in aviation from an apprenticeship course and worked his way through to Emirates. He holds a B2 license as a qualified Aircraft Technician paving his way forward to becoming an Aircraft Engineer. Mr. Kashif has the experience of working on avionics systems on a range of aircrafts including the Fokker, A310 and A380 as well.


The speaker shared his professional experience with the students and guided them on the career prospects as well as the importance of having a recognized qualification. The discussion was followed by an interactive session with the students which included a vast variety of topics encompassing everything from student concerns about their career prospects, current trends in the aviation industry and general maintenance practices to EASA licensing. The primary objective of the talk was to allow students develop a broader realistic perspective of the aviation industry beyond the scope of university studies.
At the end there was a question/answer session with fruitful result of this workshop.
