EDUCATIONAL TOUR OF AVIATION STUDENTS TO SRILANKA.
Under the arrangements of Institute of Aviation Studies,UMT, a 15-member group including aviation students &UMT management visted Srilanka from 16th to 22ndApril,2018.Well before the date of departure to Srilanka,a pre-course session was conducted at University of Management and Technology for the course students. Simlarly,a pre-departure dinner was arranged which was attended by the tour participants,faculty members of Institute of Aviation Studies,UMT.This dinner gathering was graced by the Director,Platform Int andArea Manager,Lahore of Srilankan Airlines.and his team members as a special guests.On arrival at Srilanka,the pre-arranged course, titled as “Airport Passengers Handling” was attended by the students from 17th to 19th Aprilat Srilankan Aviation College,Colombo. After completion of required studies,an examination was conducted and as a result of that all the students successfully qualified it. Apart from the class teaching,there were also ground visits of students to Bandranaiyke International Airport,Colombo,Flight SimulatorAirbus-310,Engineering Hanger and other significant aviation installations under the plan & arrangements of Srilanka Aviation College. On final day,certificates with transcriptions were awarded to the qualified students of IAS,UMT by the college management.This training of relevent field provided the students with more knowledge,intarnational exposure and confidence in their professional studis of aviation.
The visiting group then enjoyed the days of pleasure trips of various informative,historical and amusing places in different cities i.e Colombo,Kandy & Negombo of Srilanka. During the entire period of stay anywhere at Srilanka,the living,dining,transportation and other administrative support were marvelous and up to the satisfaction of each individual of the group under thearrangements of M/S Platform Int. Special & official protocol was extended to this group by the Area Manager,Lahore of Srilankan Airlines on arrival & departure at Lahore and Bandranyke Int, Airports. A local tour guide accompanied the group throughout the peiod to acqaint pertinent information about the places of visit.The group reached home safely during early hours on 23rd April,2018.
